Colonel Ingemar S. Westphall is the Director, Warfighter Communications and Cyber Systems and Chief Information Officer (CIO), Headquarters Air Force Global Strike Command, Barksdale Air Force Base, LA where he leads a staff managing cyberspace, information technology infrastructure and knowledge operations support for 24,000 personnel. He oversee command management functions for 14 Air Force-level nuclear command, control and communications (NC3) systems supporting B-2, B-52 and ICBM operations, and functionally manages more than 1,700 command cyberspace personnel providing organizing, training and equipment guidance.Colonel Westphall entered the Air Force in 1987 as an enlisted aircraft jet engine technician. He received his commissioning in 2001 as a Distinguished Graduate from Officer Training School (OTS). Following OTS, Colonel Westphall reported to the 1st Communications Squadron, Langley Air Force Base, where he served in various leadership rolls culminating as Squadron Operations Officer.
