Guest Speaker - Col Michael "Mick" McDaniel

Col Michael T. “Mick” McDaniel is the Director of Communications, Chief Information Officer, and Chief Data Officer, Headquarters Air Mobility Command, Scott AFB, Ill. He is responsible for the development and implementation of cyberspace plans, policies, and procedures supporting over 62,000 personnel at 11 major installations and numerous world-wide enroute mobility support locations. In addition, he oversees the management of aircraft communications for national senior leaders, delivers cyber security support for air mobility aircraft, and directs the modernization of IT infrastructure across the command.

Col McDaniel received his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program at Louisiana State University in December 2000. His previous assignments span expeditionary and fixed- based communications units, a cyberspace operations squadron, Headquarters Air Force, U.S. Cyber Command, Department of Defense and Air Force Agencies as well as a presidential support assignment with the White House Communications Agency.
